A’ja Wilson’s Sneaker Journey: From Cosmic Unity PEs to the Nike A’Two

  • What shoes does A’ja Wilson wear? Before her signature Nike A’One and upcoming A’Two, the four-time MVP rotated through several Nike Basketball models including the Cosmic Unity series and LeBron 21.

When you talk about the modern era of the WNBA, it’s impossible to ignore A’ja Wilson. The four-time WNBA MVP has dominated the league with a mix of power, footwork, and leadership that has helped establish the Las Vegas Aces as one of the defining teams of this era.

Before her signature line arrived, Wilson rotated through some of Nike Basketball’s most important performance models — often wearing player exclusive colorways that matched her growing presence in the game.

With the release of the Nike A’One and anticipation building around the upcoming A’Two, it’s the perfect time to look back at the models that carried Wilson through her rise.

The Cosmic Unity Era

Before stepping into her signature era, A’ja Wilson spent multiple seasons rotating through Nike Basketball’s Nike Cosmic Unity series. Across the Cosmic Unity 1, 2, and 3, Wilson wore a number of player exclusive colorways that blended performance, and storytelling.

As Nike introduced the next version of the silhouette, Wilson continued wearing the Cosmic Unity 2 during regular season and playoff play.

The second iteration kept the same sustainability focus but introduced updated cushioning and traction. Wilson rotated through several team-leaning colorways that matched Aces uniforms, reinforcing how frequently the Cosmic Unity line appeared in her game rotation.

Cosmic Unity 3: Personal Storytelling

By the time the Nike Cosmic Unity 3 arrived, A’ja Wilson’s player exclusives began carrying even deeper personal meaning. Nike unveiled a special Wilson-themed colorway featuring vibrant reds and pinks across the knit upper with red-speckled mudguards. Personal details appeared throughout the sneaker, including Wilson’s signature on the insoles and “22” hits along the midsole panels in tribute to her jersey number.

One of the most powerful touches appeared along the quarter panel, where Nike embroidered the phrase:

“If you can see her, you can be her.”

Across three versions of the Cosmic Unity line, Wilson’s footwear told a story that extended beyond basketball — blending sustainability, personal history, and inspiration for the next generation of hoopers.

Looking back, the Cosmic Unity era now feels like the bridge between Wilson rotating through Nike Basketball performance models… and eventually stepping into the spotlight with her own signature line.

Enter the LeBron Line

As Wilson’s career continued to rise, she began wearing models from the signature line of LeBron James — particularly the Nike LeBron 21.

Wilson didn’t stop there. The rotation expanded to include a silver PE, a black, pink, and green pair that paid tribute to her Alpha Kappa Alpha sisterhood, and even a polka dot edition that quickly became a fan favorite. Each pair added another layer to Wilson’s on-court presence, proving her sneaker game could be just as dynamic as her play in the paint.

The Signature Moment

Everything Wilson built through those rotations eventually led to the arrival of her first signature shoe, the Nike A’One.

Signature sneakers remain rare in women’s basketball, reserved for players who consistently move the game forward. Wilson’s impact on the court, in the community, and within sneaker culture made her an obvious choice.

Now, with the A’Two on the horizon, the next chapter of Wilson’s sneaker story is about to begin.
